This 1950's cottage-style home was old-fashioned and out-dated. but it sits in a beautiful cul-de-sac on a tree-lined street in a desirable downtown las vegas neighborhood. like many older homes it was built with small rooms closed off from one another and ignored the backyard.

 

in 2018, we like to say that "we want to live to the back of a home." so, for this project, we strategically rearranged the livable spaces so they are open and extend the livable area into the outdoor spaces. we completely relocated the kitchen, living and dining rooms.created a new covered patio, and enlarged the master bedroom suite by regrouping other bedrooms.
